My Dear Members,
It is heartening to note
that ever since the formation of GDMA in 1962, the Association has now
emerged as an Apex organization of Dyestuff Industry of Gujarat Consisting
of about 80% of the total units and contributing to 60% of the total export
of dyestuff from the country.
It not only protests and
promotes their interest but also assists in voicing the legitimate feeling
and demand of the dyestuff industry of Gujarat which is already embarking on
the diversification and value added products range.
This being the
position,the presence of the dyestuff manufacturer of Gujarat is very well
established both in the national and global market. In the context of
globalization and liberalization, the overall scenario has materially
changed with enhanced competition all around. I am happy and proud that our
members are getting ready to meet the challenges of change effectively and
efficiently as they are being reckoned with all over.
The remarkable
achievement made by the Association over the last more than four decades of
its existence signifies that it has always remained in the vanguard in
stimulating and supporting the members to forge ahead on the path of
progress by encouraging maximization of production, productivity and
competitiveness, enhancement of employment and enlargement of exports.
With this end in view,
GDMA regularly organizes seminar and workshops on the subjects of pollution
control, exports, quality control energy conservation and such other related
subjects. It is also gratifying to note that our association plays a
proactive role by making representation to the state and central Govt. for
resolution of problems of the members. It is high time that we strengthen
our members, power our industry and empower our entrepreneurs and exporters
so tha a win-win situation is created whereby opportunity and threat
resulting from WTO regime can be met with by our members with firmness and
fortitude.
GDMA has always remained
in the forefront in recognizing and rewarding exporters for their excellence
in the field. It not only presents export Awards and Merit Certificates to
the Members for their outstanding contribution in the field of exports of
dyes and dye intermediates. Such gesture of GDMA has provided much needed
motivation and momentum to the exporters.
The Association has an up-to-date Technical Library known as "JCI Group
Library" which possesses more than 200 technical books relating to
Dyestuff and Dye intermediates which are extensively used for reference
purposes. As a matter of fact, some of the books are rare publications which
are much sought after by many technical personnel of our Member units.
In addition, GDMA has also a well equipped conference hall which is now
available to other organizations for holding their meetings on rental basis.
I am sure, this new compilation of up-to-date Directory of our Members will
help to remain in touch with other manufacturers and exporters, not only in
india but also abroad and thereby provide fillip to the business activities.
I also convey my deep appreciation of the pains taking contribution made by
office Bearers, Executive Committee Members and the STAFF OF OUR ASSOCIATION
